Professional Services Organizations (PSOs) continue to expand their operations through merger and acquisition activities, following this trend that is similar to a number of industries. These organizations face many challenges when tackling a merger or acquisition, from cultural issues to ERP conflict.

Two of the major challenges being faced by PSOs in the current economy are hiring enough employees to meet demand while also hiring good people who will benefit the company. On top of talent shortages, PSOs also need to automate core processes to keep up with ever-demanding times.

PSOs looking to expand their business through a merger or acquisition are often met with the harsh reality that their systems are outdated. While it is easy to get away with low-level technology within a small organization, it becomes much more difficult to operate as operations grow. Fortunately, the significant number of investments made into it at this point usually equips it with much higher liquidity meaning they have greater flexibility and time to commit to a new software rollout.
