Hi and welcome to episode 137 of The ERP Minute. I’m your host, Rebekah McCabe.

The month began with a bang as Epicor announced its acquisition of Smart Software, a provider of cloud-based, AI-driven inventory planning and optimization (IP&O) applications, and an existing Epicor ISV partner. This acquisition will help provide practical application of AI across the spectrum of business operations, with Epicor CEO Steve Murphy stating, “The Smart Software acquisition further accelerates our focus in transforming traditional ERP from a system of record to a system of action, giving Epicor customers AI-powered capabilities to turn inventory into a competitive asset that helps drive up customer service levels and drive down costs.” By streamlining processes with transformative technology, customers can realize REAL value with their ERP in order to take action based on results.

In other news, Blackbaud announced financial results for its first quarter ended March 31, 2024. Highlights include a GAAP total revenue of $279.3 million, up 6.7%, with $271.5 million in GAAP recurring revenue, up 7.4%. GAAP recurring revenue was 97% of total revenue. This continues to demonstrate the growth of the nonprofit industry and the need that Blackbaud fills for organizations looking to grow and transform their businesses.

Then, Salesforce announced Unified Knowledge, a new solution that integrates organizational knowledge resources from disparate third-party systems into Salesforce, helping service agents be more efficient and resolve customer cases faster. Built through a strategic partnership with Zoomin, Unified Knowledge amplifies capabilities such as knowledge answers in bots, Einstein Copilot for mobile workers, and search answers. Unified Knowledge will help eliminate data silos and enable customers to more effectively serve their clients.

Finally, Rootstock Software announced the appointment of Richard Berger as Chief Executive Officer. Berger succeeds Interim CEO Jeff Ralyea, who will continue to serve as Executive Chairman of the Board, maintaining his advisory role. This marks a milestone for Rootstock preparing for continued growth by appointing a permanent leader to maintain their momentum.
