Hi and welcome to episode 144 of The ERP Minute. I’m your host, Rebekah McCabe.

Salesforce started the week by announcing the general availability of Life Sciences Cloud, a platform for pharmaceutical and medical technology organizations to help personalize patient and healthcare professionals (HCP) engagement and streamline clinical operations with data, automation, and trusted AI. With the life sciences market growing, it makes sense for Salesforce to make this play to deliver specialized value to customers in need of streamlined solutions.

In related news, NetSuite announced a new solution to help healthcare organizations improve business efficiency and support HIPAA compliance. NetSuite SuiteSuccess Healthcare Edition includes financial management and reporting, inventory management, asset and lease management, compliance and security, and user activity auditing. Many vendors are releasing healthcare-focused solutions, making it a clear path for midmarket vendors like NetSuite to follow. We expect to continue to see new healthcare solutions and advancements across the market.

Finally, Oracle announced plans to invest more than $1 billion to open a third cloud region in Madrid and drive AI skills development across the country. The new public cloud region will enable Oracle customers and partners across all industries in Spain, including its prominent financial services sector, to migrate mission-critical workloads from their data centers to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure while helping them address regional regulations. Telefonica Espana will be the host partner for the planned cloud region. This demonstrates Oracle’s continued global expansion, with the vendor making plays in major markets worldwide, specifically extending the reach of OCI.
