Oracle introduced new user experience enhancements to Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM). Salesforce launched Pulse for Salesforce, a purpose-built edition of Tableau Pulse that brings out-of-the-box metrics and AI-powered insights directly into the flow of work in Salesforce CRM, starting with Sales Cloud.

Planful kicked off the week by announcing record-breaking new bookings for the first half of the year 2024. In the first half of the year, Enterprise Expansion Bookings were up 136% year-over-year. Internationally, the company’s momentum continued with new bookings up 43% year-over-year. These results demonstrate the desire in the market for financial performance management tools, specifically those built in the cloud and backed by a commitment to advancement like Planful.
In funding-related news, Clayton, Dubilier, & Rice and CVC today announced that funds managed by CVC have agreed to acquire a significant ownership position in Epicor. CD&R, which first invested in Epicor in 2020, and CVC will each have an equal number of Board seats, with Jeff Hawn continuing to serve as Chairman. Epicor is appealing to investors with recent growth and innovations, with investors like CD&R and CVC taking a greater interest in the vendor.
In product release news, Sage announced new enhancements and updates for Sage Intacct customers globally, to streamline financial operations and enhance security. As part of the expansion, Sage Intacct is rolling out AP Automation globally. Sage Intacct Product Release 3 2024 enhancements include an elevated time entry experience, automated employee expense submission, Sage Intacct Financials Certified by AFNOR in France, German Electronic Tax Submission, enhanced Interactive Custom Report Writer, and more. Sage is committed to delivering value worldwide, especially within their go-forward product, Sage Intacct.
Related, Certinia announced its Summer 2024 Release, introducing enhanced features to help customers achieve enterprise-level scalability, drive new efficiencies across their professional services and customer success organizations, and unlock tangible benefits with AI. The product release includes mass actions for project resource requests, demand-side resource requests, connecting estimation to delivery, connecting delivery to project financials, improved productivity and value tracking for customer success teams, and the leveraging of Einstein Copilot. Certinia is taking advantage of their roots in Salesforce to deliver innovative product solutions in its Summer 2024 release.
To round out the week, Oracle and Salesforce made major product enhancements to deliver greater value to customers.
First, Oracle introduced new user experience enhancements to Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM). Built on Oracle Redwood Design System, the UX updates help procurement professionals, logistics managers, field service technicians, and product managers increase productivity and accelerate supply chain processes through smart search, business rules, pricing rules for order management, field parts inventory for maintenance, structures view for product management, and more.
Finally, Salesforce launched Pulse for Salesforce, a purpose-built edition of Tableau Pulse that brings out-of-the-box metrics and AI-powered insights directly into the flow of work in Salesforce CRM, starting with Sales Cloud. Built on Salesforce’s Einstein 1 Platform, Pulse for Salesforce is powered by generative AI and is a critical step toward the goal of bringing intelligence directly into the flow of work. Pulse offers AI-powered insights, metrics available out-of-the-box, access on-the-go, lightning-fast implementation, and more.
Customer experience is at the forefront of vendor innovation, evident in the product enhancements made by Oracle and Salesforce. These releases will enable customers to do even more with the products they already using, cutting costs and truly transforming business operations.
