Hi and welcome to episode 61 of The ERP Minute. I am your host, Rebekah McCabe.
Oracle took advantage of its CloudWorld conference last week to make multiple announcements regarding product enhancements, expanding capabilities, and a new region for Oracle Interconnect.
Oracle introduced a new asset-based service solution for Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite to help businesses enhance service efficiency and the overall customer experience by connecting disjointed processes. Also, in an attempt to create more precise customer engagements, Oracle added 15 baseline artificial intelligence (AI) models to Oracle Unity, a Customer Data Platform (CDP). Part of Oracle Fusion Cloud Customer Experience (CX), Oracle Unity blends built-in artificial intelligence with customizable industry-specific experiences. From customer experience to talent retention, Oracle introduced its new talent acquisition solution, Oracle Recruiting Booster. Extending the capabilities of Oracle Fusion Cloud Recruiting, part of Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM), Oracle Recruiting Booster can help HR and talent acquisition teams improve engagement with candidates, build communities of top talent, accelerate the hiring process, and personalize the recruiting experience for every candidate.
Changing gears to the healthcare offerings presented by Oracle, Oracle introduced specialized HR solutions for the healthcare industry. The new industry-focused HR solutions will help healthcare organizations grow the skills of their staff, reduce burnout and costs by improving efficiency, and deliver better patient care by providing an employee experience that meets the unique needs of healthcare workers. Oracle also introduced specialized supply chain solutions for the healthcare industry to support the unique needs of healthcare organizations to optimize planning, automate processes, and enhance visibility across the supply chain. Its new industry-specific planning solutions in Oracle Cloud EPM will also enable healthcare organizations to enhance insight, optimize planning and forecasting, and improve patient care.
Varying announcements from Oracle also expand out into less industry-focused enhancements. The new Oracle Applications Platform will allow partners and customers to easily build unique applications with the look, feel, and technology underpinnings of Oracle Fusion Applications. Then Oracle plans to revolutionize B2B commerce to reduce the cost of doing business, improve the customer experience, and introduce new offerings with the launch of new services that will integrate and automate end-to-end B2B transactions. Oracle went on to announce new computing, storage, and networking capabilities to simplify the use of core cloud infrastructure. Finally, Oracle announced the opening of a new Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure location in Johannesburg, South Africa, providing direct connectivity between the Oracle Cloud Johannesburg region and the Microsoft Azure South Africa North region.

In other news, Epicor announced a variety of features in its Fall 2022 release for Epicor Kinetic for Manufacturing, part of the Epicor Industry ERP Cloud portfolio. The updates include deep-industry-specific functionality, improved API connection between Epicor Kinetic and Epicor Advanced MES, improved financial reporting capabilities, connected services to optimize workflows, and a smoother user experience journey, including enhanced collaboration offering an optimized mobile experience.
Epicor continues to expand upon its capabilities to enhance its user experience, demonstrating its commitment to delivering value to customers. We hope to continue to see Epicor extend its capabilities across industry verticals to further connect operations.
Last week, Nextworld and Demand Driven Technologies, a provider of Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP), announced the launch of their integrated solutions. The integration between Nextworld ERP and Intuiflow by Demand Driven Technologies brings together the latest functional and technical innovations in a seamless experience for manufacturing companies to manage their supply chains. The Intuiflow integration is API-based, and it allows customers to configure the Intuiflow system as needed right from Nextworld’s Enterprise Resource Platform.
Nextworld continues to grow in the ERP space, optimizing its no-code platform to win over the competition that is still running outdated ERP code. The easy use and customization of the integration will enable businesses to seamlessly adapt to changing business landscapes.
In ERP philanthropic news, Deltek announced that it will partner with the Middle Tennessee Chapter of There With Care, which provides a wide range of thoughtful and fundamental services to families and children during the critical phase of a medical crisis. Together, Deltek Project Nation will assemble activity care bags for children, toiletry care bags, and parent care bags for families in need.
We love to see ERP vendors giving back and Deltek’s philanthropic efforts during its customer conference every year make a huge difference. It is wonderful to see vendors incorporate charitable work into their conferences, using it as a chance to help, not just advertise their product offerings.
