Hi and welcome to episode 66 of The ERP Minute. I am your host, Rebekah McCabe.
Last week, reliable sources confirmed that IFS acquired P2 Energy Solutions, a software and data solutions provider for upstream oil and gas, including financial & accounting management software, geospatial data, land asset management tools, and well lifecycle management solutions.
This acquisition fits nicely into IFS’ current functionality stack, specifically building upon its Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions, especially in the energy space. IFS will likely continue its EAM focus and the specialization of these offerings heading into 2023.
In ERP holiday-related news, Blackbaud will ring the closing bell at Nasdaq to celebrate the 10th anniversary of GivingTuesday, the global movement focused on spreading generosity on the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. With Blackbaud’s roots heavily embedded in the nonprofit space, it is great to see them promoting and celebrating the work of Social Good organizations this holiday season.
In ERP product releases, we saw major announcements from Epicor and Qlik.
First, Epicor released a service CRM for automotive businesses. With so many of Epicor’s offerings delivering value to automotive businesses through distribution and manufacturing, it is no surprise that they are adding a service CRM to complement preexisting solutions.
Then, Qlik debuted its suite of SAP Accelerators now available on Qlik Cloud Data Integration, its Enterprise Integration Platform as a Service (eiPaaS). These pre-configured solution templates address the entire data supply chain for SAP data, from real-time ingestion and automated transformation through the analytics-ready data and BI dashboards in the cloud. Vendors will likely continue to enable their products to work within and in accordance with the databases and offerings of other vendors in order to keep up with industry demands.
